Nizamabad MP and President, Telangana Jagruthi, Kalvakuntla Kavitha, received the ‘Fame India Extraordinary Parliamentarian award 2019’ on January 31st. The award was presented to her by Union Minister Giriraj Singh at a function in Vignan Bhavan in New Delhi.
She was selected for the prestigious award as part of the ‘Shrest Sansad Survey’ conducted by the Fame India-Asia Post magazine Adarsh division. She was selected for this honour based on her presence in the Lok Sabha, her attendance, number of questions asked, participation in debates, call attention motions, utilization of MPLAD funds and her overall performance in the Parliament.
In all, 25 of the 545 MPs were selected for the Best Parliamentarians award. She got more than 90 points on a majority of the counts on which a survey was conducted. The survey acknowledged the key role she played in the fight for Telangana Statehood. The lead she had taken for showcasing the splendours of Bathukamma festival and making it familiar world over also found mention in the survey.
Kavitha was overwhelmed on receiving the prestigious award for the good works she has done for the people. She has said that people’s love and recognition has inspired her to work even harder for the community.
